when you’re on the other side of the fence

you can definitely tell the difference between the cows. that’s how it’s always been, that’s how it’s always gunna be. And like that pilgrim who refused to do his hajj for fear that he might not be able to live for anything else, we all just want something to look forward to. Somehow, those who’ve crossed the bar tend to forget where they once were, and in the process take for granted what they have.

“The joy of adulthood lies in having access to everything and taking part in the select” a distant acquaintance once thought, and I couldn’t agree more. Never forget though that once, you wanted something so bad you’d give everything to have it. It’s putting value onto something and sacrificing everything else. And if you are not this type of person, then you have yet to live. Know your blessings and be thankful.

here’s to being outside of the fence, here’s to those sleepless nights that we’ve labored to at least get a glimpse of what the lucky others simply leave in their wake. May we always put value in things we already have.

February 18

it’s nice to know that

in a place (the world) and time (today) when apathy is almost a universal culture, there are still some whose benevolence and indomitable spirit are unfazed.

exhibit compassion.

appreciate beauty.

and learn how to live with meaning.
